2007 LEJOG
Everyday Cycle Heros
The pinnacle of our journey in Summer 2007
Having tackled an End to End ride in New Zealand in 2004/5, it seemed rude not to have done the same at home in the UK. And with six weeks of summer holidays to fill and no particular plan, well it seemed like a good idea at the time.
But somehow committing to go all the way from Lands End to John O Groats (LEJOG) seemed a bit much; a bit too challenging given the unpredictable nature of our style of family touring. So we decided to try and trick ourselves by committing to get to Lancaster (about half way and conveniently also very close to home) with a promise that if we made Lancaster in good time we would ride on and see if we could make it all the way, changing LELAN into LEJOG.
Somehow and much to our surprise it all worked out and you can read more about our journey here, a total of well over 1000 miles on two tandems pulling trailers.
Our route took us from one end of the UK to ther other
We blogged everyday on the road so if you’d like to join in our virtual journey, why not take a look at our blogs. You can keep up with us these days on Twitter, subscribe to our blog or hook up with us on Facebook.
From this page you can read more about our journey from the blog postings we wrote as we rode across the UK on this pedal powered journey to meet everyday cycle heros.
You can also view our route, look at some pictures from the tour or even buy resources so you can do a similar tour yourself.
