Dates for future rides (details to be confirmed)

MOST TUESDAY MORNINGS, STARTING SEPTEMBER 2008
BURTON TROLLEY DASH (BURTON/CARNFORTH)
Burton in Kendal - Carnforth - Burton in Kendal (pick ups en route by prior arrangement)
Most Tuesday mornings, leave Burton Square, 9.15am, return by 11.45 (ring to confirm)
Grade: EASY/MODERATE, distance 10 miles return

If you've got errands to run in Carnforth, then why not join us for a social ride and do your business at the same time. Armed with panniers and trailers (if we need them), we'll make our way through the countryside on the back roads to Carnforth. Then after an hour for shopping and refreshment (you choose!), we'll load up and head back home, making a pleasant, social outing out of what could have been a weekly chore. Young children welcome. We can lend panniers, trailers, tag-alongs, bikes and bike seats on request. You could even ride tandem if you fancy trying something different. Give us a call for details.

See sample TROLLEY DASH ride map and details on Google Map
Pick-ups (by prior arrangement): Dutton Arms (Holme); Cinderbarrow (Yealands); Priest Hutton, Borwick.
Don't forget to check out our rides policy . It tells you what to bring and what to expect.

DATE SATURDAY 18th APRIL 2009
PEDALLING PILGRIMS - A TALK and SLIDESHOW: CYCLING THE CAMINO AS A FAMILY
The Dukes Gallery, Lancaster
18th April : 6.30pm start

Last summer Kirstie and Stuart Wickes turned their family into Pedalling Pilgrims for a six week journey along the Camino Frances; one of the ancient routes to Santiago de Compostela in Northern Spain. Travelling with three children, on two tandems with trailers, their 1400km journey, from Bilbao to the Pyrenees to Santiago and then Finisterre, took them across an extraordinary slice of rural Spain, over mountain and meseta, through hamlets, villages, towns and cities on a journey with a history stretching back over a thousand years. An entertaining hour of stories, music and slides.
